500

If you’re here, you likely found some half-naked photos of some pretty amazing people on a wall somewhere! I want to thank you for showing some intrigue!

Firstly, let me give you a brief pitch on what You at Yours is all about!

You at Yours is a photography studio with the sole aim of helping every type of person obtain and maintain body confidence for themselves through the art of photography. There are no filters and no Photoshop, which is fundamental to helping them see their truth and to love it again.

The emphasise is on the experience, showing these incredible people what they are truly capable of - with the images being a reminder of that. Having worked with over 500 people and receiving feedback such as "life-changing" and "the best thing I've ever done for myself", I’d like to think this is a pretty cool way to spend a few hours haha

This is me celebrating with some friends!

Now onto the artwork. I’ve included a few more images from each person you see/saw on the walls. Gives you a further peak into how the rest of their shoot was!

Enjoy!

Merv ❤️

B

This photo can change a person's day through the unadulterated joy it portrays. Not only does it depict someone extremely happy and confident in their own skin, but it represents the natural aura of the person. After supporting me for some time on Instagram, I had the pleasure of walking B through the experience, and wow, was it a journey! In her words: "I'm going to hold onto this feeling and use it as a sledgehammer to knock down the brick wall". What a powerhouse!

C

C had been following me on Instagram for years and eventually decided to take the plunge. She decided to have the shoot at home, knowing she would get the most out of this experience by doing it this way. You could feel the nerves radiating as I arrived at her home, but she soon started to enjoy herself. She was so willing to be vulnerable, not just with me but within the experience, and as a result, was rewarded with some phenomenal pieces of art from within her own home, as well as a confidence boost!

D

I was walking around Bucharest, Romania, in 2019, taking some time away from London. I was listening to The Authentic Man Podcast, which David co-hosted with AJ at the time. I loved the podcast so much that I sent an email of appreciation with an invitation for a beer attached. David and I met up for that beer and have been close ever since. He remains a huge source of inspiration to this day.

He was ultimately game to get nude on the day, and I wanted to celebrate him as the remarkable, Authentic man he is.

E

E's consultation is one I will always remember. She was sitting on a bench outside of a pub drinking a pint. I remember her being so calm and collected. E knew precisely the type of experience she wanted (one where she could express herself fully) but, more importantly, knew what she had to do to make that a possibility. She showed up, both physically and emotionally, and came with some power and some grit, and as a result, we created many pieces of art from that day - it was hard to choose!

J

This photo is extraordinary. It was taken on J's second shoot, approx. 6 months after her first (she's booked in for a third!). During her first shoot, we were going through the motions, and I made a rather idol observation, which seemed so evident to me in this person at the time: "your power lies in your truth". I had no idea of the impact these words would have on her. But they did, to such an extent that she got them tattooed on her arm. I'm still blown away by this and grateful to her for coming back and sharing this with me. So cool!

J

J and I had worked together some months before this photo was taken. That day was enriching, if somewhat a dress rehearsal, because she admitted she had more in the tank afterwards, so we set out to do it again. There was a different energy about J on the day of her next shoot, which is what you’re looking at above!

K

I wish I could share K's story.

She is someone that so many mothers and partners could relate to. This day was a chance to have a safe space, just for her, with no responsibilities or requirements placed upon her, to just let go. There was so much resilience in her eyes when she left. I hope she's out there continuing to put herself first.

L

Like so many before (and after) her, L was extremely nervous when she arrived. The people I work with often refer to their experience as therapeutic; this was textbook emotional journey stuff! As the day evolved, L shared more and more with me about her life, and I watched as she gained a sense of freedom within herself. It was like the shackles had been released, and she met a version of herself hidden within. It was a real privilege to facilitate this for her!

L

These are some of the first photos taken of L in almost 25 years. Bar one photo taken with each of her three children, she successfully avoided having her picture taken for over two and a half decades. She had decided enough was enough and faced her biggest fear by booking a Body Confidence Experience. Seeing photos of herself was an alien yet liberating experience for her. She chose to keep 54 photos in total, which she loved, in case you're wondering!!

M

This is one of most dearest people to me in my life. I wanted to celebrate her because she's a work of art and an incredible source of power and femininity. I take photos of her as often as I can. She has many different moods and modes, but this session was one of my favourites (and hers too). We were on holiday and it’s one of my most treasured memories. I'm genuinely grateful to have witnessed this moment and to know her. M x

N

I remember N was part of You at Your Best, an education space I set up to help people continue their body confidence journey. I grabbed the opportunity when she reached out, wanting to have this experience with me. We bonded over our love for reggae and Gregory Isaacs. She has come so far on her journey of self-acceptance - she's an inspiration.

S

Throughout her lifetime, S has developed a desire to be seen. However, like the rest of us, the fear and shame associated with being seen outgrew this desire, so she hid in the shadows, stealing moments for herself when she could. This experience was akin to opening the cage and letting the Lioness roam free. She was expressive and expansive and emotional and free-flowing and raw. She sent me a long email after the session explaining what it had done for her, and I feel so lucky to have had the privilege of giving her the space to learn more about this side of herself. Thank you, S

T (+L)

Two weeks before this day, T came in for a pregnancy session, her fourth session with me since we'd met. She announced on arrival that she was due to give birth in two weeks! I was shocked and a little nervous, but the shoot went well. Later that night, she sent me a photograph of her and her newborn from the hospital!! It was a close call!

Two weeks later, she returned for her fifth shoot, bringing her little bubba in to capture this incredible memory.

W+O

This loving couple reached out to me three weeks after they got married, and as they sat on the zoom call with me, explaining what kind of experience they wanted, I knew they were special and that I had to work with them. It was a wonderful experience - we laughed and joked and were all drawn into the room's energy. I'm so grateful to them for trusting me to capture their love, passion and desire for each other. We sat at a bar afterwards and toasted each other. What an experience!

Thank you!
