Are You Thinking About Going Nude?

Are you thinking about going nude for your experience?

This is obviously a recurring theme in my photoshoots; many people either think they will definitely go nude, or definitely won't.

The reality is that you can’t make that decision for sure, you will never know until you get into that space.

  • You might be having the time of your life and you simply can't believe that you are here, jumping up and down on the bed butt naked;

  • or you might have realized that although you thought you were capable of going nude, you’ve reached your limit, which might just be lingerie.

Either way, it's totally fine and valid. There are no rules, you have not failed.

The reality is that You at Yours is a space designed for you to be yourself and feel confident in your body. And you might not know what that looks like in this kind of environment yet.

Let's step back and talk about what nudity actually means within this experience as a whole spectrum.

  • Implied nudity: it means we can see you’re nude, or at least topless, however, the photos are taken from a perspective that doesn’t let transpire any genitals or private parts of any kind. This might mean something that's backless; potentially you could catch a glimpse of a side boob; or a hand bra if that's your kind of thing. You could also be fully nude in bed, and I could be shooting where nothing's visible because of the arrangement of the bed sheets. So, whilst you are fully nude in the space, the images themselves can still be implied nudity.

  • Topless: which effectively means that your nipples are visible. It could be from silhouette, or just full front of toplessness; your boobs are on show effectively.

  • Full nudity: where you don't mind any parts of your body being visible.

For my style of work, I don't feel it's necessary to take a photo of your genitals, just because you ticked the “nudity” box. I think that can sometimes take away from the image because the attention might automatically head towards that space, and that is not what I want to achieve.

I’d rather create some mystery, leave space for imagination, and add some tension, confidence, strength, and power.

If you are thinking about going nude, I want you to reflect on why you're considering that. Are you doing it to push yourself and further your body image boost? Or is it because you actually like being nude and feel quite liberal when you are walking around the house naked?

Whilst I understand that there's an element of not wanting to have regrets coming into the space and not doing something, what you also don't want is having regrets about doing something because you pushed yourself.

That is nudity.
