Hair And Makeup VS No Hair And Makeup

Hey, so today I'm gonna talk to you about makeup versus no makeup.

Now, you're wondering what does this guy know about makeup?

I actually know very little about makeup BUT I do know the impact that it can have on your session and your experience, positively and negatively. So I'm going to talk to you about that.

So there are pros and cons for both.

The pros of having your makeup done is that it gives you a boost, that extra layer of skin, that bit of confidence. So you know you're going into the space, looking your best, okay? Gives you a chance to settle into the experience a bit more. You're gonna have your hair and makeup done. It gives you some time to ease into the process. You're also gonna be pampered, which is a great feeling. You're gonna, you know, get someone touching your face and doing your hair, and that's amazing. So, those are the general pros of having your makeup done.

The con is that it's not entirely you. It's that you may expect to have your makeup done in a way that is, let's say, over-glamorous. So that's where, you know, you are expecting to have a makeover. This is not a makeover. You are not going to be coming out like "Tonight, Matthew, I'm gonna be Tina Turner." You know, it's not a makeover. It's a chance to accentuate what's already there.

Another con for having your makeup done is that you may not end up liking the photos because of the makeup that's been done by somebody else.

Now let's talk about the pros and cons of no makeup. So, pros for no makeup. It's you, unequivocally. No one can argue with it. You can't argue with it, and you will get the most out of this experience if you go in there and just be your full self. Because ultimately, if you can look at these images and love what you see just as you are you are going to get the utmost, the complete amount out of this experience, okay?

Another pro is that you can focus more on the experience itself. I find a lot of people are distracted by what outfits they wear and what kind of makeup they wanna have and all these little things that ultimately will help with your preparation for the session, but won't have any impact on it whatsoever. Once you're in the space and once you are doing the shoot, you're not thinking about your makeup that much because you're having such a wild time that you are present. Okay?

Cons to not having your makeup done. There are none. You all, may think what if I don't like the photos without my hair and makeup done? The fact that you will go in there without your makeup done doesn't mean that you won't like the pictures. Don't be fooled. This is not all about the aesthetic.

This is about the feeling, and not having your makeup done doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna hate your images. By not having makeup done, you're going into this in the most authentic way possible, which means you're going to get the most out of the other end.

That's been my experience so far. And that's pretty much a summary of makeup versus no makeup for an experience with you at yours. Have a good one!
